The Archangel Michael Sunday School offers structured religious education to our church's youth. The Archangel Michael Sunday School has two sessions every Sunday beginning this year on September 17th; the first session begins at 9 AM and the second session begins at 10:30 AM. The sessions completely mirror each other in their structure and curriculum. Classes are offered from Nursery through Young Adults, with students ranging from three-years-old to high school. Diana Gardianos is the Director of the First Session and Anna Vrettos is the Director of the Second Session. If you would like to volunteer with the Sunday School or have any questions, please contact Diana or Anna. The books and curriculum are based on the resources provided by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and Father Dennis. One of our most recent projects was a supply drive for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. As you know there was a shortage of hygienic supplies and our students had the opportunity to learn about the tremendous impact of natural disasters, while practicing Christian philanthropy. We hope to do other philanthropic projects in the coming year. Every May we mail completed registration forms with a cover letter to all returning students, so that all you need to do is attach a check for book fees and mail in the registration forms. The registration fee covers the cost of books and supplies for the students. For new students a registration form is enclosed in the May or June Trumpet. In addition, registration forms are available at the church entrance and office and can be DOWNLOADED HERE, so that anyone can fill out a new form and return it to the office. |
