Dear Greek School Families, As we reach the end of our tenure serving the Archangel Michael Greek School community, we want to express our gratitude to you, the families of this institution. Together with you and over the course of only the past five years, we have raised over $50,000 toward the Capital Campaign, incorporated technology to improve our communications systems, laid the foundations for a library that will enrich our students’ cultural experience, and paved the way toward our school’s much anticipated move to our new facility with the coming school year. The day-to-day activities involved in leading the PTA have enriched not only our children’s lives, but also our own. There is truly nothing more rewarding than working side by side with dedicated people toward a common goal – the enhancement of our Greek- American children’s bond to their ancestry and their culture. As both of us have served on the PTA boards of the past 4 administrations, by-laws require that we step down and there is truly no better time to do so. As our Greek School approaches a new beginning in a brand new school building, the time is most ripe for new thoughts, fresh ideas and new leadership. This is a very exciting turning point for our language institute, with our new Co-Principals Ekaterini Spyridakis and Helen Capous completing their first term already having lobbied for and succeeded in upgrading and strengthening our school’s early education program. We commend their efforts and their standard of excellence. We thank you for giving us the opportunity to represent you and look forward to working with your new President Anna Frangoulis for the 2009/10 school year. We encourage all of you to participate and make your own marks on your children’s experience here, whether that involves volunteering for a committee or the all-important activity of simply attending a PTA meeting and voicing thoughts and ideas.
